Rock on! More shows!

Wowee Zowee. I've been fixing old guitars. And building new ones. As of late. Its fun, and the outcome is useful for recording some interesting sounds. For interesting songs. I also picked up a fretless 4 string ibanez soundgear bass. It is the original model, Mk I. Very nicely constructed instrument, unlike some of their more shoddily produced and pumped out versions of that model. You know, supply, demand, and quality, folks. But this one is early nineties, right around the old "Grundge" period, and is really nicely made. It was also back when they were going for $700 apiece. I scored it for $75. I'll try to get some pictures up soon.

Folks, I've been recording my pants off, and now, I'm pants-less. Seriously naked from the waist down as I write this. Not sure if that needed to volunteered or not, but, hey, I'm just throwin' that out there nonetheless... At any rate, a plethora of new stuff is getting ready recordings-wise. Majority of it was done independently as the individual known heretofore as Cody. Although there are some tracks that involve friends, and also some rough recordings of jams/practices with the band. Who knows what when and where new suprises shall arise for the teetling multitudes. Or those 3 folks at the bar... We'll just have to wait patiently and see. But hopefully, not too long...

Had another great practice on Saturday, which also included the Timillator on Bass for a good portion of the evening. 2 guitarists in PHLUX for a bit, folks! Clint was still on 6 strings, but they were smaller and more growly. He thoroughly enjoyed his-self! Tunes we ran included: Oblivion Green River Blue Never Ends A new Clint tune... Some work on a new Cody tune called Oxygen... And a bunch of other tunes which were forgotten and drowned by copious amounts of beer and pizza... Good times were had by all... Z. Beane made the scene! Rock on, mon! UPDATE! We recorded this practice... a few songs came out pretty spiffy sounding... More news about that later...

Happy Thanksgiving! PHLUX is spendin' the holiday weekend jammin' after spending the day of eating much delish food with family! Awesome! Hi. Cody here. In case anyone's interested, I've got a jazz gig tomorrow (Monday) at UMM's PAC with some other cool jazz cats. We're doing a 45 minute set including some great tunes by some jazz giants... Coltrane to Miles to Dizzy to you name it. It should be a great show, notable members of the group include sis mandy (doing some cool vocals and scat), the many Jenny Penny (drums, banjo, singing and of all things, tap dancing), and Pushing Zero's A. Pez (on bass) - plus Scott Watt on smooth trumpet. It starts at 7pm with opening act. Come down and enjoy if you're in town...

Made a major phlux pix cleanup/reorganization last night - a spring cleaning. Don't worry, if you've contributed, your photos are still up, they've just been moved. We decided an "archives" section was useful, with so many photos, we put the older ones into an archives section. So enjoy the new category, and the "blank slate" for the fan contribution categories... Ciao

Hey all, its the Codeman. We're in down time right now because I had to have a hernia operation - just wanted to let everyone know. It went well, and I'm recovering quickly, and as soon as I'm 100%, we'll be right back to it. (In case anyone was wondering why we didn't have any new shows scheduled to support the new CD...) Speaking of which, lots of people have been saying how much they like it, so if you haven't gotten around to picking it up, you should, its worth it! Rock on, and we'll see you out there soon!

Yes, we've passed the 50K visits mark! But speaking of marks, we're almost up to 4000 posts on the bboard... That's a lot of conversations and debates over the years! The new CD is on its way, don't you worry. Its been a long process, and we hope all of you enjoy it as soon as it is available... Keep checking back a release date will be posted soon!

Had a great bunch of shows over the 3 10/11 weekend. Fun with Trev and Amanda as special guests (and Katie too! Twas truly great to jam with stu acoustically in a performance space (two to be exact) - he did an excellent job with the brushes and reduced set (we rarely get to do shows like that)... It was also a blast catching up with fans and friends, and hanging out with Kate was cool - we need to do more of that! Looking forward to tomorrow's show, hope to see y'all there!
