And so the age old debate continues. One has to admit that even NPR has taken this debate into its own hands and opened it to their viewers (I saw it mentioned on their site in their review of pirates of the Caribbean at the beginning of the month). I however was unable to open the discussion/information sites because corporate America has once again shut me down and blocked it labeling the category as “tasteless”. Tasteless? Please, how can one consider this debate tasteless. This is cyber culture at its finest; these are subjects that are shaping our youth in preparation to take on the world.
But that is getting off subject. Pirates without a doubt would win. They have already. Look at news stories over the past year or so. Pirates!!! They live on. Forbes.com just did a news article yesterday about pirates attacking cruise ships. Its estimated that they make upto $50 billion a year!!! History Channel has already produced a program on them too. What are the Ninjas up to today? Are they still around?
I think it comes down to Pirates are rugged because they have to be, they were born that way. Ninjas have to go to school for their shit. There’s only so much you can learn in a classroom, but the high seas, they show no mercy. Live or die, that’s it. Plus they don’t just drink Rum its in their blood, it flows through their veins. That’s hardcore. How can anyone ever compare?
Pirates aren’t just about making money they are a symbol of free spirits. No one can ever have jurisdiction over a pirate. They don’t follow anyone’s orders unless it’s their captain’s and even that is negotiable…pirates love a good mutiny. A free spirit with a will to stay that way and never conform to an other’s ideals even if it means killing for it. Yeah Pirates win.
