Has anyone seen the new movie by micheal moore?? what are your thoughts on the movie?? I saw it and tohught is was excellent. However all the negativity, resentment and worries about the movie from the republican party make me ask myself....If its all lies and fiction then why is everyone getting so worked up by it??

I saw this movie and I think every American should see it.

And you're right; it's causing some serious anger among conservatives, especially neoconservatives, who haven't even seen the movie! To them, I say, "Go see the movie and then we'll talk. What're you? Skeeeeeer'd?"

I suppose this anger and aggression has its roots in people who supported Bush not wanting to be "wrong". The thing is, though, that there is no dishonor in being misled...once. Our president and his cabinet lied to the American people about many, many things, including their motivation for this "pre-emptive war". I can understand why people would want to believe and support their president. There is dishonor, however, in continuing to turn your face from deceit and the misuse of power out of pride. That pride is costing innocent people their lives.

Mark Twain once said, "I support my country all the time, and my government when they're right."

We must remove George Bush from office before he does irreparable damage to our democratic system (not to mention our international relationships). People say things like "democracy is failing" when really our democracy is being compromised by capitalism. Our democracy has been hijacked by greed and complacency.

But we are not without power. Look at Michael Moore. Witness the power of one man.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed it's the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead

"Let me fling my life like a flaming firebrand into the gathering darkness of the world." - Albert Schweitzer

"When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall -- think of it, ALWAYS!" - Gandhi

Well said Carolyn. I have yet to see the film as I live in the middle of nowhere Colorado, I will however, be travelling to see it this weekend.

I already know that I will suport what Michael Moore has to say. Bowling for Columbine proved to me that Moore is not only an artist but a true American.

What does that mean exactly? I would say that enacting the rights and freedoms that our forefathers authored for us defines what an American is. I also believe that now more than ever we as a people need to speak out and shape the future of our country. Bush, must be removed from office for if he is not we will surely see things our grandfathers had hoped their grand children would not face.

For anyone looking for more information regarding the degredation of our rights and country please go to www.moveon.org

As soon as I see the film I'll let you know what I think.
