Don't be an ass...
I just want to get a general consensus, how many people think we should delete posts or even user's profiles that post stupid drivel for the express purposes of either being an ass or pointless harassment? Answer well lest ye be judged as well. We're talking about a principle here: freedom. Your freedom to do as you please on this website. Obviously, this is our website and we could be as strict and obsessive as we wanted to be and not call down any fury of any judiciary; we're not govenmental entities. That is not the point, so don't discuss it, and don't try to say, "You can't do that." The point is, we've always tried to make this as interactive and unrestricted as possible, within reason. However, some people have been abusing it recently and jabbering idiotically and at length about off topic stuff, some of which is offensive to some people (another discussion altogether, but suffice it to say that personally I'm not inclined to start letting the simple fact that a few words or topics offend a few people dictate the allowable content of posts to this site, we can still speak intelligently about things that are offensive), thereby pissing off the rest of the members of the website who've been engaging in bulliten board conversations since the beginning. This abuse has led to a general decline in the quality of the conversations of this site, sometimes introducing various malicious qualities that we don't need or want.

Plain and simple: I hate the idea of being a censor. In fact, I loathe it. But if peple posting to this site cannot think for themselves and show a little bit of discretion, someone is going to have to think for them. Either don't be an ass most of the time, or we won't let you be an ass ever.
So...

To DELETE or NOT DELETE, that is the question.
We'd also entertain reasonable alternative approaches.

Count me as one. The website has been sucking it up lately, probably due to a combination of apathy by the regulars and opportunism by random Internet vandals. Of course, zapping the vandalism only solves half of that problem...

I have to agree with Zach. This is a multi-leveled problem, nobodies coming from knowhere to post one message, and really cool friends and fans not posting often or enough. But, fret not, we're working on the fret knot...

My vote's to delete as well. I think the accumulating amount of asses are beginning to overwhelm and push away the true users and true fans of this site, and the band.

I would definetly agree on the deleting. I sometimes come in here to read posts, but some of the posts can be very offending, which is one of the reasons I never reply. I prefer not to make a scene. Thank You for bringing up the subject Clint. I wish everyone who reads this Happy Hollidays. Take care all.
