This is only in the stupid shit section because if people start doing what I think they're gonna do, there'll be a lot of ghettoness goin on. What do you all think of classical music? It happens to be my favortie kind of music, and I find taht more and more musicians I talk to are liking classical, regardless of tastes. Just wanted to hear your opinions! |

Hey man I played the clarinet and the bass clarinet for quite a few years, and before that I used to listen to whatever my parents had, plus I had a couple tapes of my own. Have you listened to james galway at all? Its usually just this one guy on the flute, sometimes a few other background instrumentalists, so its not like a big ol orchestra or anything, but its usually quite peaceful....you should check it out. |

i'm fine with classical music, i don't have anything against it. if i'm in the mood for it, i'll listen to it. not my fav. type, but it's kool. look at it this way: whatever your favorite music is, don't care about what other people think of it. by all means, ask what you want about it. just don't let the little rap fans try to crack on your music. i live in a town of rap infested ghetto wannabe preps who mostly all listen to rap, but i still walk down the sreets listening to MY music. people don't like it, then fuck them. listen to what you like and what you want! |

Josh, I see what you mean... It did turn a little ghetto, did it not? Anyway, I love classical music. It is a beautiful thing, the fact that a lot of it is simply focused on the brilliance of music alone, without any vocals or lyrics. I have listened to a lot of music in my lifetime, and unfortunately, classical may be one of the genres I've listened to the least of, only because there is so much out there. What I have heard, I have liked. I think there was a higher standard for music and particularly themes in music during the hayday of classical; seeing that classical covers many periods and eras, this higher standard flourished for a long time. Patrons and kings paid for the music of the time, helping to limit the music to only the very best for the elite. Beautiful stuff mostly, at any rate. |
