Prom...ick
Okay, this is a totally and BIZARRE post. It has nothing to do with Phlux. Just so you know...alright, here we go.

I am Jessica Chahanovich and am a senior at Shead High School (eww). I was not intending on going to my senior prom this year...mainly because Shead proms are not real proms. They're little parade things. I hate them. Anyway, my mum really wants me to go and such. Now, Shead Proms are impossible to go to if you don't have a date, otherwise this would not be an issue.

The issue being that a kid who I do not get along with asked me to prom and I said no. Now, I HAVE to go and am not thrilled.

Sooo....anyone that will be in the area on June 13 2003...would you like to escort me to my prom? I'm not into the whole prom thing, but it'll make my mum happy and that means more graduation presents...

I think we all have to admire your steadfast resolution to get more graduation presents.

My advice would be to prepare a pro-forma refusal email for the many guys like me who may be tempted to offer their services, but whom you wouldn't wish to share a lift with, never mind a prom.

Alternatively, why not just go with the guy who already asked you? At least he has good taste!

Yea he has good taste. in 8th graders. But we won't go there. Don't feel like slamming anyone today.

the POOP CHICKENS are performing at Narraguagus' Prom on May 10th.

well since i already did...yea he "did it" with an 8th grader last year, his little sister's best friend. 3 minute man!

But that's enough from me...I get annoyed with how much I slam people.

But I should definetly go to the Poop Chickens show/Guagus prom...

Um...I wouldn't go to the Narraguagus prom Jessica Chahanovich. I went one time and it sucked! My date was great, but the whole "parade-thing" happens at Guagus, too. Personally, I think that POOP CHICKENS shouldn't play and they should just go out on the Barrens with their gear and a generator and they should jam out for the wild animals and indigenous peoples of Downeast, Maine. Fuck Narraguagus! Fuck it in it's stupid head!

Oh yeah...and Poop Chickens are drugs addicts to boot!
posted by Jarrod Anderson on Apr 24, 2003 11:18PM

mmm drugs...

i can't go to the guagus prom anyway, due to my father's birthday being that day and I wouldn't doubt me having a softball game that day either. but it's a cool thought either way.

want to go to my prom?

I would, but alas! My ass will be on the Island of Deserted Mountains! I will be serving the greatest %1 of the greatest nation on Earth! Love thy SUV...peace!

That's okay. I'll find someone eventually. I have some friends in Woodland that I asked a while back and I think they'll go anyway. But thanks anyway Jarrod.

thank you ron. i could actually get you here if i was so desperate (which I am)...I have hook ups in Seattle (grandfather) who's a big shot at Boeing. And he'll be here anyway...haha so if you REALLY wanted to come, you could. But yea. thanks anyway

oh, and to lose a nagging bitch? I think the easiest and most sufficent way would be to say:

"You're a nagging bitch and I want you to leave me alone."

Yea, that should work. Take one of those and call me in the morning.

Oh, man... I know how hard it is to find a date for prom last minute. Our prom is on Saturday and only on Monday did a guy ask me to go to the prom - in detention. It was a mildly humorous occasion. :) Real romantic... but it should be lots of fun!
By the way, I understand how prom is a parade, because our prom sounds similar. I'm a Senior at Machias HS, and I've gone the past three years just to show off my prom dresses that I make. The way I look at it though, you can have fun at the same time as showing off...
I hope you have lots of fun, Jessica!

Jess,
What was the end result of the prom event? I'm curious... Did you go? Did you have a date? Write back.

ugh, i went with the idiot. and he scared me when i had to dance with him. i was signaling to people to get his hands to go up, not down...anyway...
yea it was alright. i ended up sitting in the lobby with my friend and my other friend's dad and we were goofing off. it was great, that part of it.
i survived it. thanks for caring

Hey Jess,

Wow, I haven't talked to you in absolutely forever, so, Hey! I am sorry for your Prom escapades...my date was more than slightly quirky, but an excellent dancer? You've got to look at the bright side sometimes...all right, you have to look at the bright side A LOT of times. His name was Darby...a cutie pie...very verbal.
Anyway, got any big plans for this summer? If you'd like, my email address is conveniently located somewhere around here. Hope everything else has been going well for you. Later gator!
