I find many of the stereotypes addressed here and elsewhere alarming and absolutely pointless. I'm wondering what the point is of trying (and failing miserably) to group everyone who lives in one place, be it state, country, etc., together into one overarching desrciptive statement. This prolem with using stereotypes is not limited to geography, it goes into all aspects of demographics and beyond: basically, no one individual is identical or the same as any other person. Everyone knows this, so what is the point of writing things that are blatantly false?
